Welcome back! This week we will be focusing on the concepts of Specific heat capacity and the process of calorimetry.
General lesson outline HERE for the week

Reminders: Notes today--read through the power point found in your Team
supplemental practice problem located in your Team assignments tab

Tuesday, Apr. 21
Task for today: work on practice problems.  WebAssign: Specific heat and calorimetry 1 -- will be due on Monday, 4/27, 8 AM
there is also a supplemental WebAssign available--not scored for the gradebook, but available for additional practice should you want/need it

Office Hours: 1 - 2:30 today

Wednesday,
Apr. 22
Lab: Determination of the specific heat capacity of water--within PivotInteractives
Today's goal: Watch the video to see whole process, then create the data table and collect data.  Because you're doing just 1 trial per data point, make sure you pause the video and collect at least 15 data points from beginning to end of the heating of the water.

Thursday, Apr. 23
Lab: Determination of the specific heat capacity of water--within Pivot Interactives
Today's goal: Analyze the data collected yesterday and answer all questions within the Pivot lab.

Office Hours: 1 - 2:30 today

Friday, April 24
today's goal: work on the packet of IB Questions related to Specific Heat and calorimetry, found in the assignments tab of your Team

Monday, Apr. 27
Notes: Phase change

Tuesday, Apr. 28
Notes: quantifying phase changes
Exit question in Teams
Office Hours: 1 - 2:30 today

Wednesday, Apr. 29
WebAssign: Latent Heat

Thursday, Apr. 30
Power Point of practice problems for specific and latent heat, and calorimetry, is posted in Teams. Do whichever you need and follow the solutions if you want to check your work. None are required. essentially today is a practice problem/catch up day. :)

Friday, May 1
Mini-lab: verify the latent heat of fusion of ice
