February Assignments--IB Physics 2
2016-17 school year

Tuesday, Jan. 31
Notes/Discussion:  Sources of emf; potential difference

Wednesday
Feb. 1
Discussion of Ammeters, voltmeters, circuit diagrams, Ohm's Law

Thursday, Feb. 2
Ohm's Law, Power dissipation in circuits--notes and practice problems
HW: find 2-3 items in your home that you power by plugging into an outlet; find their power rating

Friday, Feb 3
In-class discussion of household electrical power usage
HW:  Mini-posters (homework if you didn't finish in class) showing the following:
- Title (name of device chosen)
- Illustration of device
- Power rating
- Estimated average time device is used per day, x 30 for per month
- Approximate cost for using the device for the month.  Use $0.0975 per kWh.
Please put your name on the front so I can give you credit while it's hanging on the wall in the hall.
Markers and colored pencils available in class (you're on your own at home :) )--please make it fun to look at!

Other HW reminders:
- WA Electric Power and Ohm's Law--due next Friday
- IB Questions Packet--due next Friday
For both of these assignments, please work on them a little each night--don't leave it until Thursday night!

IA Deadline reminder:  Please submit your first draft to www.turnitin.com by Monday night (2/6 at 11:59 PM).  Peer reviewers will be assigned on Tuesday.
