Physics Units
Home Reminders for every unit:

- there will be a short quiz MOST WEDNESDAYS.  This quiz will be on the material covered since the previous quiz

- You are expected to make up a quiz that you miss BEFORE the next quiz is given!  You will be expected to take the Wednesday quiz on the day you return to class, unless there are extenuating circumstances.

- All homework for a unit will be checked for completion on due dates, but will not be collected until the day of the end-of-unit exam.  I will be collecting the work that you did to earn the points in the WebAssign assignments (book problems), in addition to any unit assignments that were not part of the WebAssign work (i.e. supplemental worksheets)

- Not having homework done on an assigned due date will result in the loss of 1-2 points (~10% of the assignment total)

- Not having the homework done by the time you turn it in on the day of the unit exam will result in additional  loss of points.  Please do your homework! and SHOW ALL WORK for problems!  no work, no credit!

- Remember, if you have questions about the homework that do not get answered during class discussions, please make an appointment to see me for help before a quiz or exam!

This unit involves the study and analysis of objects that are in motion and traveling in a straight line--either at a constant velocity or in uniform accelerated motion (constant acceleration)

Linear motion involves horizontal motion (like a car accelerating along an interstate on-ramp) as well as vertical motion (like a diver free-falling from the high dive platform)

Unit 9:  Waves and Wave Behavior
Unit 10:  Sound and Acoustics
Unit 11:  Light and Color
Unit 12:  Optics (mirrors and lenses)
