Internal Assessment--Important Documents

IA Criteria and important dates
Scoring Rubric

Important Dates:  (Dates with something DUE are starred (*))
**two stars indicates that there is a required submission to www.turnitin.com for that date

Important Dates:  (Dates with something DUE are starred (*), (** to turnitin.com))
November 7--introduction
**November 12—DUE—Ranked 3 Proposed research questions due
**November 18: DUE--a timeline/plan for completing your process
November 18-December 8: finish background research
**December 9:  DUE--Intro, background info and personal engagement draft
November 25 – January 9: gather materials, and perform experiment (collect data)
**December 20:  DUE--materials list, variables discussion, and procedure draft
**January 15:  DUE--proof that you’ve collected all (or almost all) necessary data and are working on your analysis--minimum due = data tables and averages calculated, plus a description of what still needs to be done for analysis.
*January 30 (Thursday after finals):  DUE—1st draft of your full IA.  Submit to www.turnitin.com by 11:59 PM this night (preferably earlier…get some sleep! J).
*Feb 3 – Feb 10 (by 8 AM):  Complete a peer review of the paper that is assigned to you through www.turnitin.com.  Use the rubric.  Give them comments (useful, constructive feedback) and give them a score based on what you see (be honest, and be picky so that you’re helpful—pretend you’re me doing the grading J). Please have this done by 8 AM on Monday, February 10.
February 5 – Feb. 12:  Finish up with your final draft (don’t submit your final draft until you’ve read the feedback from your peer).
**February 11 - 15:  Final draft due any time this week—submit a hard copy in class and a digital copy to www.turnitin.com
Note:  I will start collecting final drafts as soon as you are finished with it.  Please talk with me if you think it will be impossible for you to turn this in before you leave for February break.  I will work with you on due dates, but please remember that I need to get 63 of these graded by the end of March, and they take up to 90 minutes EACH to assess. The absolute last day I will accept these, IF YOU COMMUNICATE WITH ME, is Feb. 28 during class.
